Summary

The position of AVP Treasury Management is responsible for developing new deposit accounts, cash management, merchant business, remote deposit and other ancillary services that would benefit business professionals in our market including but not limited to public entities, municipalities, not for profit organizations and small business owners. This position requires a superior level of customer service and sales skills with sound technological aptitude. The position of AVP Treasury Management is responsible for attaining established individual, departmental and bank goals through active participation in sales management and officer calling programs. In addition, the AVP Treasury Management assures compliance with all SVB policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.

Essential Duties

Engages in business solicitation and sales activities of new and existing business clients with a focus on the small business market. Sales include various deposit products and ancillary products, as measured by the needs of each specific customer or prospect. Assists consumer and business customers in their selection of various accounts, products and financial services available from SVB; ensures cross-sell opportunities are presented by applying professional sales techniques. Travels to customer sites to install or service electronic devices provided by SVB such as remote deposit and credit card equipment, trains customers and staff members how to utilize direct deposit payroll and other business service products as necessary. Troubleshoots systemic problems with all electronic services offered by SVB. Interviews customers to obtain information; establishes proper identification of new customers; determines need and extent of reference investigation; assists customers in completing application. Opens new accounts, completes forms requiring customer signature(s); accepts initial deposits; prepares all documents and items pertaining to checking accounts, savings accounts, certificates of deposit, merchant, cash management, repurchase agreements, etc. for processing.

Environment and Physical Activity

The environment for this position is an open office that is mostly clean and comfortable. It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc. The incumbent is in a non-confined office-type setting in which he or she is free to move about at will. The incumbent in the course of performing this position spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 30 pounds), carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling and reaching. Mental Demands

The incumbent in this position must be able to accommodate to reading documents or instruments, detailed work, problem solving, customer contact, reasoning, math, language, presentations, verbal and written communication, analytical reasoning, stress, multiple concurrent tasks and constant interruptions.

Minimum Requirements

These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); four years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of a financial institution operations, sales or customer service background. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related. Extensive experience, knowledge and training in ACH and NACHA guidelines are beneficial Utilize MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint with a high degree of proficiency Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Extensive experience, knowledge and training in bank activities, terminology and products and services. Strong knowledge of general office practices. Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees. Effective organizational and time management skills. Ability to work with general supervision while performing duties. Current driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties.

Salary Range: $26.00 - $36.00 per hour depending on experience
