Job Summary The Auditor compiles, analyzes, and provides support for regulatory filings, quality assurance/peer reviews, documentation and analysis of rate issues, rate administration, rate case and policy as directed by management. Strong accounting and financial skills are highly preferred for this position.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
Lead the preparation of updates to rate-related documents used by other departments. Detailed review, analysis and oversight of rate filing documents, work papers and supporting schedules.
Prepare quantitative analysis of all Entergy rate schedules to evaluate customer bill impacts. Ability and knowledge to prepare, understand and review tariffs and tariff calculations which collect fuel, purchase power, capacity, energy efficiency costs, environmental, securitization and other costs.
Document and assist in the interpretation of regulatory order filing requirements.
Responsible for the accurate and efficient preparation of regulatory data for filing, including pro forma adjustments to historical per book information; cost of service allocation for filing; and rates for reasonable recovery of the cost to serve in a manner that is equitable to our customers while recognizing corporate financial stability.
Perform peer reviews for FRPs, rate-cases, fuel, special riders and other filings for accuracy, completeness and compliance with applicable jurisdictional filing requirements.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education : Bachelor’s degree in Math, Accounting, Finance or Engineering or equivalent work experience. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance highly preferred. MBA or CPA preferred.
Minimum experience :
Regulatory Analyst III: 3+ years of relevant experience
Regulatory Analyst, Senior: 3+ years of relevant experience
Preferred experience :
Previous experience with Regulatory Filings
Background in Accounting, Finance, or Mathematics
Previous Utility experience
Previous experience in research or auditing
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Strong attention to detail; self-starter requiring little supervision
Advanced PC skills utilizing Microsoft Office and other mainframe business applications
Strong ability to develop detailed spreadsheets and to convert analysis into meaningful summaries and recommendations
Excellent organizational, time-management and prioritization abilities
Ability to work effectively on multiple assignments; flexible to changing priorities
Effective oral and written communication; strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
Willing and able to perform other duties as required and to learn new processes and technologies
