The Equipment Service Technician is a remote based, customer-facing employee, primarily working inside hospitals. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing medical equipment used in surgical procedures, as well as providing installation support on complex mechanical, electro-mechanical and electronic units. Individual experience in HVAC repair, mechanics, maintenance, refrigeration, boilers, chillers, equipment repair, diesel and automotive repair, aviation repair, plumbing, electrical, etc., is often successful. Responsibilities
Perform fundamental troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of STERIS and competitor equipment, systems and components. Manage time effectively by prioritizing customer and business needs and schedules autonomously to complete PMs, service calls, warranty calls, equipment installations, field upgrade programs, and other duties. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Tech Support, Engineering and Service Contract Management) to escalate issues, meet regulatory requirements, and document troubleshooting efforts. Provide customers with information, pricing and repair options. With management support, build relationships with Sales to drive customer experience and revenue opportunities. Learn to identify sales opportunities in the assigned territory. Provide support to various locations within the assigned territory based on service agreements and customer needs. Experience, Skills and Abilities
Required: High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of work experience, including 2 years in a mechanical/technical role. Associates degree or related certifications in technical/mechanical area, competitive equipment training or related military experience may be considered towards the technical experience requirement. Valid driver’s license and ability to meet all required background and physical assessment elements to obtain and maintain vendor credentialing requirements. Customer and team engagement experience. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Basic computer skills (MS Windows/email, navigation, mobile apps, data input into multiple systems). Ability to meet flexible schedules with potential overnights, early/late hours based on customer and business needs. What STERIS Offers
