Overview
The Materials Management Coordinator will provide support with medical supplies and equipment for hospital departments. This position is responsible for the purchasing and procurement of supplies and equipment, for the hospital departments. It involves developing and maintaining customer relations between Surgical Services and Materials Management and ensuring quality, cost-effective procurement to support safe patient care. The role collaborates with the management team to meet procedural supplies and equipment needs for USC Verdugo Hills and works with vendors to maintain a positive relationship between the vendor and the hospital. Responsibilities
Coordinate purchasing and procurement of medical supplies and equipment for hospital departments. Receive, store, control and deliver materials to designated departments. Maintain customer relations between Surgical Services and Materials Management. Ensure quality and cost-effective procurement that supports safe patient care. Collaborate with management to meet procedural supply needs for USC Verdugo Hills. Liaise with vendors to maintain positive vendor-hospital relationships. Qualifications
Minimum Education: High School Diploma. Minimum of two years’ hospital experience in the OR/Materials Management. Thorough knowledge of all medical supplies used in the facility. Knowledge of sterile technique as it applies to supply handling. Ability to speak, read and write English. Displays behavior conducive to excellent customer service; strong organizational and time management skills. Knowledge of Inventory Management, Clinical Documentation, inventory control and contract compliance. Demonstrated problem-solving abilities. Strong computer proficiency; knowledge of materials management systems and Microsoft Office preferred. License/Certification: CSPD or Surgical Tech certificate preferred. Compensation and Policy
The hourly rate range for this position is
$22.00 - $34.00 . USC will consider qualified applicants with criminal records in a manner consistent with applicable laws and regulations, including fair chance ordinances.
