Woodcraft Rangers provides TK-12 expanded learning programs, including before and after school, specialty enrichment and summer learning. The organization works to provide inclusive, youth-led programs rooted in the Woodcraft Way. What We Do:

Woodcraft Rangers serves more than 20,000 youth ages 4-18 annually in 110+ Title I schools across LA County, offering expanded learning opportunities and services beyond traditional afterschool programs. Job Summary:

Club Leaders ensure a fun and positive learning environment for club participants (approximately 20 children). You will work with a site coordinator and a community liaison; opportunities exist to work on school sites, sleepaway camp, or both. The Club Leader position is on-site, including training at the Woodcraft Rangers main office in Little Tokyo and at school sites. Ensure students are in a safe environment (physically and emotionally). Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces diversity for all program participants, staff, and families. Develop and lead age-appropriate program activities that are FUN, engaging and aligned with a whole-child approach (social emotional learning, skill building, self-esteem, leadership). Monitor participant attendance and engagement to ensure active participation in program activities. Build positive relationships with program participants, colleagues, and all stakeholders. Collaborate with colleagues and supervisor to develop culminative activities or events showcasing participant work and accomplishments. Request required materials in a timely manner so the Site Coordinator can ensure materials are available within budget. Comply with all safety requirements and emergency protocols; stay up to date on trainings and required certifications. May be required to attend off-site field trips. Maintain and submit student attendance daily. Participate in staff development trainings as required (approximately 15 hours over multiple weekends/intersessional days in spring). Club Leaders are accountable to the Site Coordinator and Program Manager for assigned duties. Other related duties as assigned. Detail-oriented, energetic, ambitious, proactive, and positive, with the ability to work independently and with others. Comfortable presenting and speaking in front of staff and peers during in-person training. Requirements: Experience in expanded learning programs or youth recreational facilities Minimum High School Diploma or GED (AA in Child Development or related field preferred); prior experience with K-12 groups in academic or recreational settings preferred Ability to work well with young children and/or youth Good oral and written communication Computer literacy and willingness to learn Valid LIVE Scan, TB Clearance, and CPR Certification Must pass an assessment evaluating math, reading comprehension, and spelling Physical Demands:
