Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure the integrity and administration of the FHP promotional examination and assessment process. Develops and administers confidential written and assessment examinations in compliance with federal and state laws and agency policy. Develops and initiates surveys, focus groups, and document reviews to complete individual rank job task analysis. Researches and identifies resources to assist in the development and administration of the written promotional exams and assessment process. Plans, develops, and coordinates annual promotional process providing implementation plans, determination of individual eligibility, and exam locations with emphasis on customer service orientation. Communicates and coordinates with other Highway Patrol and State Police agencies to secure participation of external law enforcement to ensure diversity and equity in the assessment process. Oversees record management and maintains required documentation to ensure continued accreditation by CALEA and CFA. Maintains knowledge of eligibility requirements and verifies eligibility of those applying to participate in the process. Receives and tracks requests for separate examinations or other requests for consideration regarding the promotional examination and assessment process. Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with the following: Typing and/or data entry experience Experience composing professional correspondence Skill using Microsoft Office (SharePoint, Word, Excel and Outlook) Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional and relevant experience Experience with Access Database Experience in evaluating candidates for Veterans Preference Development, Examination and Administrative experience Job Related Requirements
The position requires the incumbent to have and maintain a valid driver’s license in good standing. A driver’s license history review will be conducted on all candidates in consideration for the position. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. This position requires out-of-town travel for up to one week per month. The position you are applying for is subject to a Level 2 background check, along with Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) clearance, to include a fingerprint-based check of the criminal records of the FBI, as a condition of employment pursuant to Chapter 110.1127, 435 and 943, Florida Statutes. Please note that, since this position requires CJIS clearance, the Department will have access to all applicants’ criminal and juvenile delinquency records, even those that have been sealed or expunged. The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview. Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI. FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
