Construction Management Business Class Director (Water Business Group)

Overview
Construction Management Business Class Director (Water Business Group) at HDR. Primary duty is to provide strategic focus nationally on positioning HDR as a preferred provider for construction services in the water infrastructure industry. The Director leads CM business development, project delivery, and group leadership/communications, and captures best practices, tools, templates, protocols, and other intelligence to sustain successful Construction Management delivery across the Business Group. This position reports to the WBG Service Delivery Director. Responsibilities
Business Development:
Maintain market intelligence regarding industry competition, potential partners, acquisitions and/or new hires. Capture HDR and competition SOQs, proposals, presentations, scopes of work with fees. Ensure all regions maintain CM pursuit target lists and Client Maintenance plans relevant to CM delivery. Create and support capture planning, preproposal visits, qualifications, and proposal preparation to standardize HDR CM business development and client interactions. Provide marketing support on pursuits to elevate HDR’s selection hit rate. Maintain List of Major CM or PM/CM or OA/CM Projects. Maintain Toolkit, SharePoint sites, and promote best practices/tools across the Business Group. Implement presentation/interview training workshops for all Senior Construction Managers. Project Delivery:
Capture/disseminate CM delivery lessons learned. Ensure use of HDR best practices, procedures, templates, and protocols for consistent CM delivery coast to coast. Work with other Business Class Directors on delivery of existing projects and long-term tactical plans for the water construction services program. Provide principal-level project management and issue resolution. Track actual delivery costs against budget and incorporate lessons learned into future scope/fee development. Maintain CM/CI resources and provide resource planning. Lead PARR reviews and train additional staff to be Lead Reviewers. Attend PARR reviews as needed. Perform site audits to ensure proper CM protocol and owner satisfaction. Promote RAKEN Field Reporting App and update HDR Technical Guidelines as needed; manage annual license renewals and coordination of payments. Promote Newforma Construction Administration (Newforma CA) usage and coordinate with relevant contacts. Serve as the WBG point of contact for CMIS questions. Update and maintain HDR Construction Management Manual, CM Procedures/Forms & Field Checklists; ensure CM access/use across the Business Group. Leadership and Communications:
Reinvigorate the CM Practice Community with regular calls and broadcasts of wins and lessons learned. Collaborate with Field Services Communications Director, Construction Services Director, and other CM leaders; participate in Field Services Steering Committee. Lead CMAA engagement, represent HDR as a CMAA Member/Board of Directors, coordinate dues, sponsorships, and nominations for national awards; maintain list of CCM-designated HDR employees and encourage CCM attainment. Ensure staff development with a documented CM training plan and sessions. Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering with 15+ years of experience managing construction delivery programs for the water infrastructure industry. PE or related professional certifications are desirable. Location: this position can be located in any HDR US office. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering, or closely related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in a related field. Maintains professional or Engineering registration and related technical experience. Experience in development and management of diverse teams; ability to work cooperatively with other business class directors, operations managers, technical directors, and marketing managers.
