Overview
The USF Health College of Nursing is one of 14 colleges at the University of South Florida and a member of USF Health. The Associate Director of the Florida Center for Nursing (FCN), housed within USF CON, supports the Executive Director in advancing FCN’s mission to address nursing workforce challenges through data-driven policy, education, and innovation. This faculty member participates in strategic program development, evaluation, and dissemination of initiatives impacting nursing education, practice, and professional development across Florida. The role requires dynamic leadership in academia, nursing professional development, fiscal oversight, and scholarly dissemination, with travel approximately 50% (primarily in-state) to represent FCN at conferences, community meetings, and events. Responsibilities
Program Development, Evaluation, and Budget Oversight: Collaborate with the Executive Director to design, implement, and evaluate statewide initiatives aligned with FCN’s strategic goals. Lead or co-lead grant proposals, program reports, and outcome assessments. Develop metrics and dashboards to monitor program impact and workforce trends. Lead program budget development and monitoring, with the expectation of understanding the full FCN budget. Collaborate with the FCN Director of Operations to ensure fiscal accountability and alignment with organizational priorities. Develop and oversee continuing education activities for nurses. Academic & Clinical Expertise: Provide thought leadership in nursing education and clinical practice transformation. Serve as a liaison between academic institutions, clinical partners, and professional organizations. Support curriculum innovation and continuing education efforts for nursing professionals. Scholarship & Dissemination: Produce peer‑reviewed publications, presentations, and policy briefs. Represent FCN at state and national conferences and stakeholder meetings (~50% travel; majority in-state 2–3 days/week). Mentor students in scholarly and professional development activities. Leadership & Collaboration: Work closely with USF College of Nursing faculty and staff, FCN Board of Directors, and advisory groups. Foster partnerships with health care systems, government agencies, and community organizations. Assist in strategic planning and organizational development of FCN. Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Doctoral degree in nursing or a related field from an accredited institution. Must hold, or be eligible for, licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Florida by the start date. Demonstrated success in program development, evaluation, and scholarly dissemination. Experience in academic and clinical education settings. Experience with program budgeting and fiscal oversight, including understanding of comprehensive organizational budgets. Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills. Proficient in technology and data systems relevant to workforce analysis and program evaluation. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. Preferred Qualifications
Executive leadership with demonstrated fiscal responsibility. MBA or a minimum of 5 years of equivalent leadership experience in health care, education, or nonprofit sectors. Experience working with state agencies, boards, or legislative stakeholders. About Us
