As an Assistant Store Manager, you will partner with your Store Manager to support store team members to achieve sales performance expectations through active coaching, development of a team selling environment, and operational excellence when you are the manager on duty. This includes working with your Store Manager to assist in recruiting, hiring, and training the store team members to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Leadership
Partner with Store Manager to lead store staff to achieve sales, service, and operational expectations
Support the Store Manager in setting clear performance expectations and ensuring training in sales, customer service, and operations to meet company standards
Model company values and lead by example as an active coach
Communicate priorities and sales-driving information to ensure staff are equipped to maximize opportunities
Assist in recruiting store staff and contribute to an inclusive store environment
Performance
Support the Store Manager in achieving store business plans, including sales, customer service, and operational goals
Develop game plans and follow up on execution to maximize sales and drive consistent results
Present opportunities with fact-based information and recommendations using store data
Participate in driving outreach opportunities and relay leads to Store Manager, Regional Manager, and VP of Store Operations
Identify performance opportunities and help address issues effectively
Operational Excellence
Ensure store schedule accuracy and proper staffing to execute initiatives and maintain sales coverage
Assist with training store staff on internal operational functions
Stay informed on corporate communications, directives, initiatives, and policies
Support store programs to increase efficiencies in sales, service, operations, and branding
Workplace
Contribute to an engaged and inclusive store environment where opinions are valued
Support a culture of learning and development using training tools
Serve as a role model and provide enthusiastic motivational leadership
Assist in creating a steady pipeline of external talent through recruitment
Conduct regular store meetings to keep team updated with company directives
Customer Experience
Assist with training the store team on customer service expectations to create an exceptional experience
Lead the store team to exceed customer expectations and achieve a high Medallia score
Utilize customer feedback to take action and resolve concerns
Ensure the store is visually set to brand standards and marketing initiatives are executed per company direction
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of Retail or Sales experience
Creative with good judgement and aware of the business pulse
Self-motivated, results oriented, strategic thinker
Strong organizational and leadership skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Active listening and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to train and develop high performing store teams
Proficient in technology systems, applications, Microsoft Office, and video conferencing
Ability to operate a computer and POS system
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the work shift, frequently bend, squat and twist, lift up to 50 lbs, climb a ladder to reach merchandise or supplies, and distinguish fabric patterns and colors
