Overview
Director of Safety at RWJBarnabas Health. In support of the development of Corporate Security Team as a service line, and in support of the Corporate Security mission “to compassionately protect and help the people, property, and quality of our health system, together”, the Corporate Security Operations Center CSOC Director leads the CSOC operation. This includes designing and leading the development of CSOC procedures, policies, workflows, and other operational standards. Serving as an escalation point for critical issues and immediate actions cases as identified by the CSOC Dispatchers and Supervisor. Collaborating with the Director of Intelligence and Investigations on cases needing investigation, development awareness briefings and identifies, analyzes, and supports incidents that are either impactful or potentially impactful to RWJBarnabas Health, its hospitals, sites, workforce, assets, the brand, patients, and visitors. The CSOC Director collaborates with the Director of Security Technology to ensure functionality of CSOC technical capabilities and maintains dashboards and reports on multiple data sets including workplace violence data, drug diversion data, local security dispatch data, weapons detection data, proximity alert data, crime risk data, media and social media data. The CSOC Director will oversee the activation of workflows to notify leadership as appropriate to immediate actions events and will oversee notifications to the Corporate Threat Assessment Group (CTAG) and collaborate with the Corporate Director of the Office of Emergency Management. Responsibilities
Lead the CSOC Operation and strategic development and advancement of CSOC capabilities as a value add to safety and security across the health system; design and lead the development of CSOC procedures, policies, workflows, and other operational standards; serve as an escalation point for critical issues and immediate actions cases identified by CSOC Operators and Supervisor. Develop an Intelligence Framework for Corporate Security including awareness briefings, proximity alerts, and threat assessments. Develop and execute complex workflows that support the organization for various security, safety, workplace violence, and other necessary escalations. Create and manage enterprise-wide dashboards that trend and track data sets including workplace violence, drug diversion, security dispatch, weapons detection, proximity alerts, crime risk, media and social media data. Strategize workforce accountability during crisis and disaster situations including use of mass notification technology. Maintain system risk assessments related to hazards and workplace violence regulatory requirements. Oversee scheduling and deployment of armed security resources to mitigate and address risks in real time. Oversee activation of workflows to notify leadership for immediate actions events; oversee notifications to CTAG and collaborate with the Office of Emergency Management. Work in a fast-paced environment; stay highly organized and adaptable while maintaining a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Experience with access control systems, CCTV management systems, and visitor management systems. Ability to learn new technology quickly. Collaborate with Human Resources, Security, IT, Communications, and other internal stakeholders; demonstrate change management and people leadership skills. Uphold personal and professional standards of integrity and compassion; strong oral and written communication skills. Experience with incident, logging, dispatching, and case management software. Required:
Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred in Corporate Security, National Security, Criminal Justice, Law, Business Management, Emergency Management, or related field. At least eight years of security dispatch or command center supervisor experience. Prior management and people leadership experience. Excellent administrative and communication skills (written and verbal). Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint; expert level in Excel including pivot tables. Results-oriented with strong critical thinking and multi-tasking abilities. Ability to communicate effectively across a highly matrixed organization. Preferred:
Masters Degree in related field. Experience in Corporate Security, Hospital Security, or Contract Security. Membership in security organizations such as ASIS International or IAHSS. Benefits And Perks
