Overview
The Cardiovascular Division at the University of Minnesota has a regional and national reputation. The goal of this recruitment is to support the current practice needs and growth as well as the expertise of adult congenital cardiology clinical care, teaching, and research. The division is recruiting a cardiologist to expand this mission as a member of the adult congenital cardiology program. The candidate will work closely with the leadership of the adult and pediatric cardiovascular divisions, cardiology service line, and Lillihei Heart Institute to expand the University's adult congenital clinical and academic missions. Clinical efforts will include, but are not limited to, University of Physician clinics, hospital service, outreach clinics, and pediatric/ACHD Echocardiography. Responsibilities
Provide clinical care in adult congenital cardiology in collaboration with the division leadership and affiliated services. Support and contribute to education and research activities within the adult congenital cardiology program. Engage in multidisciplinary clinical care, teaching, and scholarly activity aligned with ACHD missions. Qualifications
Required Qualifications: MD or equivalent degree with demonstrated qualifications in education, research, and clinical care. Internal Medicine or Pediatrics board certified or board eligible; Adult or Pediatric Cardiology Board certified or board eligible; Minnesota medical license required. Board certification or board eligibility in Adult Congenital Cardiology. Experience and advanced training in management of adult congenital cardiology patients; proven clinical research skills. Experience in supporting medicine post-graduate fellowship training. Evidence of clinical excellence, a publication track record, and experience with grant submissions for external funding. Ability to receive work authorization in the United States and maintain legal status according to VISA requirements. Pay and Benefits
Pay Range:
This role is dually employed by the University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians. Salary at the University of Minnesota is dependent upon academic effort and begins at $55,000. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through University of Minnesota Physicians. Total salary is competitive with market and based on AAMC salary benchmarks.
