Location Designation:
Hybrid - 4 days per week A $300bn+ asset manager is looking to add a Director to its Structured Finance research and origination team focused on non-traditional commercial and consumer asset backed securitizations (ABS). The team aims to originate and execute 4(a)2 private placements and 144A securitized transactions, including private debt deals, asset spot purchases, and forward flow programs. Coverage sectors include digital infrastructure (data centers, fiber networks), transportation (aviation, rail, container), equipment finance, whole business, solar loans and leases, student loans, home improvement, unsecured consumer, single family rental (SFR) and residential mortgages (RMBS). Responsibilities
Underwrite new issue and secondary investment opportunities within consumer, esoteric and/or commercial ABS markets. Negotiate document terms with issuers, sponsors and other transaction parties. Analyze collateral to develop modelling assumptions and provide credit quality assessment. Present results from transaction-specific and sector-wide analyses to internal and external audiences, including portfolio managers and clients. Maintain views on industry-wide issues impacting originators, broker/dealers and investors. Monitor U.S. and global regulatory changes, accounting and capital requirement changes, lending laws, and legal precedents. Undertake ongoing monitoring and analysis of portfolio positions to assess credit risk, credit ratings stability, cash flow volatility, portfolio positioning and trading opportunities. Qualifications
Minimum 10 years' experience in consumer, esoteric and/or commercial ABS in a buy side or sell side research role. Demonstrated ability to source, underwrite, document and monitor transactions. Experience in credit research, risk evaluation, collateral performance assumptions with scenario and sensitivity analysis, cashflow modeling, and negotiation of deal terms. Robust knowledge of ABS issuers, intermediaries, and investors. Strong understanding of U.S. securitization structures, legal foundations, and legal transaction documents. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently while contributing to the team culture. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Pay Transparency
