The Infrastructure Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing enterprise infrastructure systems, including network, storage, backup, and security solutions. This role supports strategic planning, operational management, and business continuity across Nouria’s hybrid IT environment. Reports to: IT Director Position Responsibilities
Perform and execute network designs for campus, WAN, and colocation datacenters, including capacity planning Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of IT procurement and development efforts Planning and development of long-term strategic goals for enterprise storage and backup systems Implement and optimize storage architectures that utilize industry best practices including Information Lifecycle Management and data classification Install, configure, support and optimize Enterprise SAN Technologies, backup systems, and corresponding software Implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of storage appliances and stored data assets Communicate and enforce, through system procedures, data storage retention policies Follow change control, incident response, and testing processes for modifications to storage appliances and software Research, recommend, and design IT Infrastructure products and services, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts Design and implement disaster avoidance strategies and impact reduction strategies Work closely with department heads to define effective business continuity strategies Implement and management of SIEM logging tools Operational Management Design and Manage Windows, VMWare, and Linux servers and related data center technology, including backup systems, and their associated operating systems and software Work with the IT security team to design and Manage security solutions, including firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems Design and Manage network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, access points, UTM devices, and UPSs Assess and administer equipment, hardware and software upgrades and patches Conduct network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights as needed Work with IT Security team to perform server and security audits and log reviews Work with IT Security Team to implement security policies and remediate vulnerabilities Create and maintain a disaster recovery plan; Manage and coordinate recovery plan implementation and efforts, including initial emergency response, recovery procedures, and business resumption processes Collaborate with Cloud Solutions Architects and M365 Engineers to support integrated hybrid environments Refine and document system backup and recovery processes, including regular testing Perform system backups and recovery Perform and manage SQL server backups and recovery Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs Patch and security management of servers and infrastructure devices Create and maintain clear documentation regarding all system configurations Provide technical support and guidance to users and other IT staff Other duties, as assigned Knowledge & Experience
Extensive technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards Extensive knowledge and experience working with Firewalls (Fortigate or Sophos Experience a plus) Proven expertise with network capacity planning, network security, and general network management best practices Strong understanding of storage architecture design, theories, principles, and practices Expertise in 2 or more SAN Storage platforms, and optimization for high performance systems such as SQL server databases Extensive knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory Administration (MCSE/MCSA Certifications) Infrastructure Architect Extensive knowledge of LAN, WAN, and Campus and Datacenter Network Design, Configuration, and troubleshooting (Cisco CCDA/CCNA Certifications or similar) Experience optimizing SQL server environments Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring, and supporting storage servers and management software, including Exagrid, Dell EMC, and PURE storage Hands-on iSCSI SAN/NAS/DAS troubleshooting experience VMWare Expertise (VCP Certification) VEEAM Backup and Recovery Experience Experience with network and server monitoring solutions using WMI and SNMP Experience with vendor management and contract negotiation Business Continuity Planning Experience working within an Azure hybrid environment Experience with Wireless Networking Optimization Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field with 10-15 years of systems/network/storage administration experience required Following certifications required: Microsoft MCSE/MCSA, VMWare VCP Strong experience managing Windows Server, SQL Server, and Active Directory, and various infrastructure tools for backups, security, and systems monitoring, etc. Experience with Microsoft Visio, creating network and server diagrams and documentation Strong experience working with and providing technical support to manage, M365 tenants including Active Directory, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, and Azure Experience with the administration of on-premise Active Directory and Active Directory Federated Services / Directory Synchronization Strong PowerShell scripting skills and experience Proven working knowledge of data security standards, best practice, and compliance requirements Experience with telecommunications technologies and carriers Proven ability to create and maintain standard operating procedures and documenting system processes Strong desire to work within and support a team environment Retail technology-related experience a plus High level of personal accountability Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. and perform physical activities on a regular basis Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills; and Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities Nouria Energy is an equal opportunity employer.
