Technical Accounting Manager
to oversee some of the most complex areas of accounting within the organization. This individual will ensure proper accounting treatment for leases, equity and other investments, revenue recognition, and other unique or non-routine transactions. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in US GAAP, strong analytical skills, and a proactive mindset to drive process improvements and maintain compliance.
Base pay and compensation
Base pay range: $120,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr Additional compensation types: Annual Bonus
Key Responsibilities
Lead technical accounting reviews and documentation for complex transactions, including revenue recognition, equity investments, and intercompany arrangements. Interpret and apply new and existing accounting standards. Draft, update, and maintain accounting policies. Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate the accounting impact of new initiatives, contracts, and business arrangements. Strengthen and maintain internal controls over financial reporting. Prepare accounting memos and position papers on treatment of significant transactions. Support financial statement preparation and disclosures in accordance with US GAAP. Act as a key point of contact for external auditors during audits and reviews. Provide guidance and share expertise with colleagues on complex accounting matters.
Qualifications
5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including both public accounting and corporate technical accounting roles. Strong knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition), ASC 842 (Leases), and ASC 820 (Fair Value). Hands-on experience with consolidations, eliminations, and multi-entity reporting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred. Experience in nonprofit, mission-driven, or multi-entity organizations a plus. Familiarity with financial systems such as Sage Intacct, Concur, MS Dynamics. Advanced Excel skills and exposure to data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). Strategic thinker with the ability to translate ideas into practical solutions.
