We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented
Senior Manager, Technical Accountant
to join our finance team. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting by researching and applying complex accounting standards (US GAAP), managing technical accounting issues related to revenue recognition, contracting arrangements, and intangible assets, and supporting audits and compliance initiatives. Responsibilities
Research and interpret accounting standards (US GAAP) to provide guidance on complex transactions including licensing agreements, IP acquisitions, revenue recognition (ASC 606), and cost capitalization. Prepare and maintain technical accounting memos and documentation to support accounting conclusions. Collaborate with legal and business development teams to review and assess the accounting implications of contracting arrangements and strategic agreements. Work with external auditors to support quarterly and annual audits, including the preparation of white papers and supporting schedules. Monitor updates to accounting standards and assess the impact on the company’s policies and procedures. Assist with the implementation and maintenance of applicable internal controls over financial reporting (SOX compliance if applicable). Participate in the preparation of financial statements and disclosures in accordance with GAAP. Support the accounting close process and ensure accurate classification and recording of transactions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including legal, operations, and R&D to ensure alignment on accounting treatments and financial implications. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field ( CPA strongly preferred ). 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a mix of public accounting (Big 4 or national firm) and industry accounting
is required. Technical Accounting experience in a
technology or IP-driven business
is required. Deep understanding of US GAAP, especially ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition – Point in Time / Percentage of Completion), ASC 805 (Business Combinations), ASC 842 (Leasing Arrangements) and ASC 350 (Intangibles)
is required. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written communication skills. Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP). Experience working in a SOX-compliant environment is a plus. Company Overview
