Nationwide’s Information Technology team is seeking a Consultant, Product Architect to support P&C Claims and Shared Data Products. The role will work a hybrid schedule, coming into the Columbus, Ohio or Des Moines, Iowa office 2 days per week. Remote candidates may also be considered. Ideal Candidate Skills Include Self-motivated individual Strong analytical, communication, and facilitation skills Ability to make decisions and recommendations on technology strategies Aptitude to influence, build relationships, negotiate, and set priorities Strong technical skills, experience with modern application architecture Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus Familiar with AWS, DataBricks/Spark, Kafka, Delta Lake, Snowflake, Teradata, Informatica, Tableau, PowerBI, AI/ML/Gen AI, Big Data processing and analytics, Stream Processing Job Description Summary The Product Architect will support a line of business or infrastructure domain, responsible for the technical quality, integrity, and evolution of the application portfolio. The role will develop and maintain systems architecture, ensure secure software and systems engineering practices, and identify technology risk. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain systems architecture for a product domain, business function, or technology portfolio Contribute to strategies, blueprints, and roadmaps for a given product/application/technology area Apply secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle Identify technology risk, technical currency, and technical debt related to applications Craft moderate to sophisticated build patterns, accelerators, and standards Drive technical quality by conducting or participating in architecture, design, and code reviews Run the vitality of technical talent in the area of responsibility and provide feedback Assist in mentoring lines involved in product/application development Typical Skills And Experiences Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or a related field is preferred. Eight to ten years of experience in a Technology domain, with skill in multiple architectural domains and various technologies. Awareness of emerging technologies and experience with cloud technologies is preferred. Values Regularly and consistently demonstrates the Nationwide Values.
