Represent clients in courtroom and mediation/arbitration proceedings Take and defend depositions Research various factual and legal issues and collaborate with senior attorneys about strategies Draft memoranda, pleadings, discovery demands and responses, motions, briefs, etc. Examination of records and transactions underlying business disputes and investigations as to potential client claims Commitment to working in a variety of commercial litigation practice areas Collaborate with colleagues across departments to provide comprehensive legal support to our clients The firm requires a minimum of 1800 billable hours annually Qualifications
4-7+ years’ experience in litigation required Experience in complex commercial litigation and/or bankruptcy preferred Admission to Connecticut bar required Admission to New York and/or Massachusetts bar preferred Experience with Connecticut State Court and Federal Court practice required Federal or state judicial clerkship experience preferred Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school and active membership in good standing of the bar Excellent research and writing skills; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing Ability to function in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload Professional, cooperative, positive, and flexible attitude; ability to work with diverse personalities Military experience welcome EEO statement: Harris Beach Murtha is committed to an inclusive environment and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
