Roku, Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented paralegal or legal assistant to support its Corporate Legal, Employment Legal, and Legal Operations teams on a variety of matters, which may include subsidiary management, securities and corporate governance, insurance, employment, and legal operations, among others. This generalist role requires an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to work independently and as a member of a close-knit legal team. For California & New York Only - The estimated base salary for this position is between $99,000 - $112,000 annually. Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location. This role is eligible for health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off. This role will be in office Monday – Thursday. What you'll be doing
Provide legal and general support to Roku’s Corporate Legal, Employment Legal, and Legal Operations teams Assist with subsidiary management matters, such as entity formation and dissolution, minute books, annual report filings, annual general meeting matters, director/officer changes, qualifications to do business, and intercompany transactions, as needed Review and manage miscellaneous agreements for Roku and its legal entities Assist with M&A and other strategic transactions, as needed Assist with other corporate projects, as needed Assist with employment legal projects, as needed Provide support on legal operations projects, as needed Perform legal and industry research Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Roku’s Finance, Tax, Treasury, and People teams, among others Assist with other projects and programs as assigned Qualifications
At least three years experience as a paralegal or legal assistant at a top law firm or in-house legal department A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (required); a certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program is viewed positively (but not required) Strong Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint Ability to handle complex and sensitive matters with good judgment, discretion, integrity, and professionalism Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, using effective organizational skills to prioritize and manage deadlines for multiple simultaneous projects for multiple stakeholders Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a cross-department, cross-functional role A collaborative and proactive approach, with the willingness and ability to actively suggest process improvements in the course of completing assignments Strong written and oral communication skills and attention to detail Benefits
