Today’s healthcare environment is undergoing rapid change and transformation. As a manager within EY’s Health consulting practice, you’ll work with clients across the healthcare industry to transform operations and plan for a financially sustainable future. You’ll use your industry knowledge and relationship skills to help clients transform operations to meet evolving demands in today’s healthcare market. The focus for this role is provider operations, specifically patient access, and managing client engagement teams while delivering professional services and supporting business development on strategic accounts. Responsibilities
Lead and manage provider operations projects with a focus on patient access for not-for-profit and for-profit healthcare clients (hospitals, health systems, physician practices, academic medical centers). Assess and redesign clinical processes; oversee engagement teams; collaborate with a broad spectrum of clients across the healthcare sector. Work across areas such as operational improvement, benchmarking and financial quantification, cost reduction/revenue enhancement, workflow redesign, and patient access initiatives including template management, template optimization, and scheduling algorithms. Key activities include collaboration with client personnel, delivering quality client services, managing risks, and ensuring timely, within-budget work products. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with approximately 5 years of related experience, or Master’s degree with approximately 4 years of related experience. Approximately 4 years of healthcare consulting experience, preferably with prior experience as a manager or higher, in consulting or industry. Required experience with patient access and centralized contact centers; ability to lead patient access initiatives including clinician management, template management, template optimization, referral management, and scheduling algorithms, with design/implementation experience in ambulatory settings. Experience with centralization of patient access functions, including contact center staffing models and technology for engagement channels. Ability to read and interpret hospital financial statements, use complex financial models, and map operations with knowledge of healthcare cost reduction planning and implementation. Experience with healthcare M&A, physician alignment, or financial margin improvement initiatives; track record selling and delivering end-to-end projects from assessment to implementation. Ability to generate revenue within existing clients and develop new prospects at C-level of large healthcare companies; ability to manage a team of staff/senior consultants; strong collaboration skills and problem-solving abilities; proficient in Microsoft Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint. Willingness to travel to meet client needs (travel required as needed). Ideally you’ll also have Degree with emphasis in Finance, Accounting, and/or Business; CPA, MBA, MHA and/or MPH What We Look For
