What You Will Do Lead preclinical drug discovery efforts as the primary biologist on cross-functional drug discovery teams, driving program progression from early research through candidate selection. Operate independently in a collaborative and fast-paced setting to support strategic goals.
Lead Preclinical Drug Discovery Effort: act as the primary biologist on cross-functional drug discovery teams and drive program progression from early research through candidate selection.
Experimental Design and Execution: design and perform in vitro experiments using diverse molecular and cellular biology techniques, including:
Primary and stable cell line culture
Development of functional cell-based assays
CRISPR/Cas-mediated genome editing
Immunoassays (Western blot, ELISA, flow cytometry)
RT-qPCR
Fluorescence microscopy and cellular imaging platforms
Cross-Functional Collaboration: partner with in vivo pharmacologists, protein biochemists, structural biologists, medicinal chemists, computational biologists, pathologists, and mass spectrometry experts to inform experimental design and data interpretation.
Innovation and Scientific Rigor: contribute to the development and application of cutting-edge technologies; proactively propose and explore novel hypotheses to uncover new therapeutic opportunities in obesity and cardiometabolic diseases.
Communication and Dissemination: present findings to internal teams and external conferences; contribute to scientific publications, patents, and regulatory documents.
