The Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine seeks an Assistant, Associate, or Full Project Scientist. Within the Department of Pathology and Dr. Pride's research laboratory, we are seeking a senior scientist to lead efforts in bacteriophage research. The position will work in cooperation with the clinical microbiology laboratory, the Pandemic Applications Laboratory and Microbiology Service (PALMS), and the Center for Innovative Phage Applications and Therapeutics (IPATH) to assist with projects focused on bacteriophage biology and eliminating pathogens that cause human disease. The successful candidate will be involved in small and large collaborative projects, teaching and supervising students and postdoctoral fellows, and will make original and significant contributions to a research program in a discipline relevant to bacteriophages. This includes participation in all aspects of laboratory research, including experimental design, data analysis, manuscript and grant writing. Appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Project Scientist level will be based on the candidate's background and experience. Basic qualifications
(required at time of application) Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, MD/PhD, or PhD or equivalent in microbiology, molecular biology, bioinformatics, or other related disciplines. Preferred qualifications Candidates with 4+ years of postdoctoral experience are preferred. Candidates with at least 3 years of experience in bacteriophage research are preferred. Candidates with at least 1 year of experience with bioinformatics and clinical microbiology are preferred. Application Requirements
