AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented UXO Safety Officer (UXOSO) for employment in Kuwait City. Qualified candidates must be available to start onboarding for this assignment on November 3, 2025. Deployment to Kuwait will happen shortly after that. This will require completion of pre-hire support activities (drug screen, background check, etc) by mid-October 2025. In accordance with Department of Defense Explosives Safety Board Technical Paper 18 (DDESB TP-18), a UXOSO must be able to: Meet the criteria for and perform the functions of a UXO-TIII. Implement explosives and health and safety plans and programs in accordance with applicable DoD, federal, State, and local requirements. Ensure compliance with a DoD Military Service- and/or DDESB-approved site plans. Analyze potential risks (operational, explosives safety, general safety) associated with MEC-related activities and develop and implement required mitigating measures. Verify compliance with site-specific explosives safety requirements, including: enforcing personnel limits and ESQD arcs for explosive-related operations; conducting, documenting, and reporting daily safety inspections and implementing corrective actions; engineering controls to reduce open detonation minimum separation distance; and ensuring heavy equipment operations comply with manufacturer’s specifications. Make the final safety status determination of discovered MEC with the SUXOS. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications High school diploma + 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Current driver’s license. May require using an AECOM provided vehicle and/or personal vehicle for company business. Pass pre-employment drug screen. Valid US Passport through 11/2026. Complete a post-offer, pre-employment fitness for duty exam in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.120. Contingent upon a medically “qualified” fit for duty result indicating the employee is medically “qualified” to conduct work activities at the jobsite. 40-hour HAZWOPER. 8-hour OSHA Supervisor (initial). 10-hour or 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety. Current 8-hour OSHA refresher. Note:

Due to the nature of this project, US Citizenship is required. Meet the following minimum qualifications per DDESB TP-18: Graduate of a military EOD assistant course; or an accredited UXO technician training course; or military EOD school of the US, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, or Australia. On-the-job training including familiarity with processes, procedures, and equipment (e.g., geophysical) used for MEC-related activities. Military EOD graduates: 1 year MEC-related experience, 6 months MEC-Supervisory experience, 8 years total EOD/MEC experience. Accredited UXO School graduates: 8 years MEC-related experience, 2 years MEC-Supervisory experience, 10 years total MEC experience. Graduate of an OSHA-compliant (Section 1910.120(e)(4)) 8-hour Management and Supervisor Training Course. Understanding of applicable explosives safety criteria and MEC range clearance experience. Completed a 10-hour OSHA Construction Safety and Health Training with a Department of Labor Construction Safety Course Completion Card. Preferred Qualifications It is preferable that the UXOSO also meet the requirements for a SSHO Level 1 in accordance with USACE EM 385-1-1 (2024). Explosive Ordnance Disposal certificate. 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety. 40-hour EM 385-1-1 Hazard Recognition Training. Additional Information Relocation assistance is not available for this position; however, travel and per diem will be provided. This position will require a Motor Vehicle Record Screening.
