GEICO is seeking an experienced Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead architecture, design, development, and delivery of scalable pricing solutions. The role requires extensive experience in application architecture and software engineering with a focus on finance business applications. It involves hands-on technical leadership, innovation, and collaboration to align technology solutions with business goals. Position Responsibilities
Lead the architecture and solution design of a vendor product or bespoke system to conduct complex calculations across multiple dimensions to support advanced Pricing processes and analytics. Apply broad knowledge across all layers of application development to deliver comprehensive, scalable solutions meeting current and future business requirements. Collaborate with stakeholders to align technology solutions with business goals and requirements. Leverage Finance Systems experience to design, develop, or implement systems to support Pricing teams. Ensure seamless integration of financial data from ERP systems, sub-ledgers, and other enterprise sources to support Pricing requirements. Advance flexible, framework-driven solutions with a focus on continuous technology adoption. Lead and mentor other engineers, share best practices, and improve processes across teams. Incorporate DevOps concepts including Azure DevOps to build out applications. Oversee system-wide technical initiatives, migrations, performance tuning, and process automation. Prototype new tools/frameworks to improve development efficiency and product quality. Provide thought leadership in new technologies, design patterns, and best practices; stay ahead of industry trends. Perform root cause analysis of performance issues and implement monitoring, profiling, and optimization strategies as needed. Qualifications
15+ years of professional software development experience. 10+ years of experience with large enterprise or business applications, preferably finance related. 5+ years of experience with ERP systems (Oracle, Workday, SAP, PeopleSoft). Deep understanding of object-oriented design with expertise in Java or C#. Experience building high-performance web UIs with a modern JavaScript framework (React/Angular/Vue). Strong relational database knowledge (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SqlServer) and cloud data platforms (Snowflake). Familiarity with data engineering concepts and Data Lake/warehouse technologies. Extensive experience with integration architecture. Knowledge of cloud-native architecture and technologies (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). Proficiency in DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure management. Good knowledge of security protocols and products (Active Directory, Windows Authentication, SAML, OAuth). Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills; ability to communicate with varied audiences. Ability to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environment. Compensation and Benefits
