Position Summary
This position is responsible for preparing and teaching courses in English Language Acquisition and/or English for Academic Purposes. The role may work with both immigrant/refugee populations and international students with proficiency levels ranging from beginning/basic to college-level English. Essential Functions
Prepare, teach, and assess outcomes in assigned courses in accordance with department and college standards Assess student learning and use data to improve teaching and learning Maintain current knowledge in TESOL and effective pedagogy Perform related duties as assigned Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in TESOL, Adult Education, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university Conditions of Employment

This is a part-time faculty position contracted on a quarterly basis. Salary per credit hour starts at $1,244.36 to $1,457.68, with applicable COLA adjustments. Lab credit hours and other compensation terms are described in the 2024 Faculty Negotiated Agreement. Part-time faculty may be eligible for healthcare and retirement benefits after the second consecutive quarter of half-time or more employment, subject to institutional policies. Tacoma Community College offers one personal leave day per academic year with multi-quarter appointments; sick leave accrues quarterly based on full-time equivalent teaching percentage.
