Job Description And Duties
The salary ranges listed in this Job Control may not reflect reductions in pay in accordance with the 2025 Personal Leave Program. As the Department Data Domain Architect you will partner with Franchise Tax Board's (FTB's) IT manager architects and business partners to provide technical leadership expert analysis and guidance for improving performance and implementing new application services aligned with business needs. You will apply advanced knowledge of FTB's systems of work and data assets to desired design solutions for complex challenges. Enabling real business values, reducing risk, minimizing cost, collaborating with departmental teams. Works closely with FTB architects, Enterprise Architecture (EA) Office, and senior managers, engaging in continual education on industry technology, data governance, data strategies, and operational trends to help identify and guide complex projects and initiatives that will provide the greatest value to the department and citizens of California. $9,507.00 - $12,740.00 Desirable Qualifications
Experience as a data architect in data integration, data analytics / large data platforms Experience managing and/or leading across multiple data management disciplines and processes Experience in technical project management and change management principles and practices Experience in managing large scale and complex data integration and/or data analytics solutions Experience working with tax administration or financial data and government sourced data from federal, state, or other third-party data as it relates to common financial processes Experience working on large-scale software development lifecycle projects with multiple implementation methodologies Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues in a production environment Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks; data modeling best practices and standards; data management architecture and best practices Knowledge of modern technical solution architecture as they relate to data management including cloud, machine learning, and generative artificial intelligence Ability to develop policy, plans, and strategies in compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and standards Ability to provide sound recommendations and viable solutions that further mature FTB’s technical platforms while meeting FTB stakeholders’ needs Ability to conceptualize, analyze, design, implement and present as a business professional and technical subject matter expert Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, planning, collaboration, and negotiation skills Contact Information
