Position Title: IT Support Technical Instructor - (A+) Reports To: Site Director WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Per Scholas is seeking an IT Support Outline instructor to join our Training Team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, with strong technical and instructional skills, able to adapt quickly to a dynamic environment, and accountable. The candidate should be business-minded within our mission and excel in instructional delivery that meets clients’ and learners’ expectations. WHAT YOU’LL DO
Support instructor-led training that prepares students for entry-level to mid-level IT Support roles. Responsibilities include daily instruction, assessment administration, attendance, one-on-one tutoring, daily evaluation and monitoring of student progress, addressing student violations consistently, and more. Provide students with access to relevant external resources for learning on technologies related to the curriculum. Collaborate with the team to identify student needs, establish individualized achievement plans, and participate in regular student-status meetings. Maintain and update Salesforce and/or our LMS with student grades, certification scores, and progress notes. Support and maintain training curricula, syllabi, lesson plans, and other classroom materials. WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO US
Instructional Skill Sets 1-3 years of teaching or training experience Strong technical background with the ability to convey highly technical subject matter Ability to respond clearly to live digital conversations via platforms such as Zoom or in-person training Required Skill Sets Proficient understanding of IT support fundamentals, including hardware, software, and networking concepts Familiarity with Windows, macOS, and Linux Experience troubleshooting common IT issues, including software installations, network configurations, and hardware malfunctions Knowledge of IT security protocols and best practices Ability to work with diverse IT tools and software such as helpdesk ticketing systems, remote desktop tools, and hardware diagnostic utilities Understanding of cloud computing platforms and services Experience with mobile device management and troubleshooting Familiarity with virtualization technologies Knowledge of IT support best practices and SLAs Ability to stay updated with the rapidly evolving tech landscape Commitment to ongoing professional development and relevant certifications Preferred Skill Sets Experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining computer hardware (desktops, laptops, peripherals) Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) Experience setting up and managing wired and wireless networks; understanding IP addressing, subnets, routing, and network troubleshooting tools Experience configuring and securing mobile devices (Android and iOS) Experience with Windows Server environments and roles (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS) Experience with Group Policy for user environments and software installation management Experience with server storage solutions and RAID Experience implementing backup strategies on Windows Server Professional Qualifications Bachelor's degree (or equivalent practical/industry experience) Strong technical aptitude with tools such as Google Sheets/Excel, Slides/PowerPoint, Salesforce, Slack, Zoom; project management and organizational skills Excellent written communication, presentation, and customer service skills Solid understanding of business needs Strong evaluation and data management skills Prior IT experience or a demonstrated desire to learn is a plus Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; Master’s degree preferred Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Network+ At least three years of experience in an IT support role Personal Characteristics Thrives in a creative, fast-paced environment with a mission-driven team Data-driven, results-oriented, and collaborative Strong communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally Life-long learner with a passion for technology Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Public speaking and interpersonal skills; able to build relationships across diverse backgrounds Effective time management and ability to balance multiple projects Supports Per Scholas’ mission to provide access to well-paying tech careers from diverse communities Compensation Target salary range for this role: $60,000 - $65,000, with variation based on geography, qualifications, and experience. #LI-Hybrid Questions and Application
