Traffic Engineer (Transportation)
GPI is seeking a full-time Traffic Engineer for our growing Connecticut Operations. This position offers the opportunity to be a key member of our traffic team, involved in a wide range of public and private development projects both in-state and regionally. Our traffic team works to solve mobility issues through transportation solutions that benefit communities and the quality of life of those impacted by our infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities
Thorough understanding of current traffic engineering standards and practices
Working knowledge of drafting, traffic analysis, and simulation programs (Synchro, SimTraffic, HCS, AUTOCAD) is required
Knowledge of VISSIM and SIDRA is a plus
Good writing skills with the ability to prepare reports and memorandums
Interest in learning and growing as a professional while mentoring younger staff to strengthen the team
Attendance at industry events and networking
Qualifications
BS in Civil Engineering required with a focus on Traffic/Transportation preferred
7+ years of traffic engineering experience preferred. All levels of experience will be considered
PE is required (CT preferred), PTOE, and RSP are pluses
Experience developing conceptual intersection/corridor options is a plus
Interest and experience in working on complete streets projects is a plus
Experience with urban design and current design practices for multi-modal accommodation is a plus
Experience working on CTDOT projects is a plus
