Overview
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an immediate opportunity for a Principal Systems Engineer or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer. The selected candidate will report to the Northrop Grumman Precision Targeting and Protection facility in Apopka, FL. This position supports the design, integration, test, and production of laser/electro-optical, network and communication systems. Relocation assistance: No relocation assistance available. Clearance type: Secret. Travel: Yes, up to 25% of the time. Roles & Responsibilities
Implement and manage system requirements. Revise and manage both original and revised specification/interface definition documents and expedite documents through signature approval processes. Provide data to risk management and trade study processes (identify potential risks). Support system design, data analyses, interface verification, testing, failure/anomaly resolution and mission operations. Support testing and/or evaluation/validation of one or more components of a system or subsystem analytical model or actual system implementation. Attend and prepare materials for System Requirement Review, System Functional Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review and System Verification Review. Support trade studies, system sensitivity studies, design optimization studies, system performance assessments, system design assessments, mission analysis and timelines and concept of operations development. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment supporting an Integrated Product Team. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related STEM field with 5 years of related experience, or Master’s with 3 years, or PhD with 1 year. US Citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance. 2 years experience with DOORS requirements management tool. 2 years experience in process and procedure writing. Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes. Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Basic Qualifications – Sr. Principal Systems Engineer

Active Secret clearance. Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and tools (e.g., Cameo). Understanding of Statement of Work and other contractual documents. Experience writing statements of work and estimating project scope. Problem-solving skills and experience in failure analysis and robust corrective action. Ability to scope and generate product test plans, lead tests, and generate test reports for internal and external distribution. Good organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple projects. Ability to communicate and present complex technical concepts to project, program, management, and customers. Salary and Benefits
Primary Level Salary Range: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00. Secondary Level Salary Range: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00. The salary ranges are general guidelines and vary with scope, responsibilities, experience, and market conditions. Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may apply where applicable. Eligible employees may receive long-term incentives; benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company-paid holidays, and PTO.
