POSITION SUMMARY: We are looking for a Senior Accountant who will play a critical role in the organization’s accounting operations, with responsibilities across general ledger management, financial reporting, and revenue reconciliation. This position ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data and supports a timely month-end close process. The ideal candidate will work closely with both the Controller and Revenue Cycle team, the Senior Accountant contributes to ongoing financial health and process improvement within a growing, mission-driven healthcare organization. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Accounting & Financial Operations Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and general ledger adjustments. Perform monthly account reconciliations and balance sheet variance analysis. Maintain prepaid expense and fixed asset schedules, recording amortization and depreciation monthly. Assist with the month-end and year-end close, ensuring timely and accurate financial results. Banking & Treasury Support Complete monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts. Investigate and resolve discrepancies to ensure accurate cash reporting. Maintain loan payable schedules, including interest expense and principal payments. Collaborate with the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team to ensure accurate recording of billing and collections across multiple clinical locations. Assist in reconciling revenue, payments received, and accounts receivable balances. Audit & Compliance Assistance Prepare supporting documentation for internal and external audits. Ensure all activities are compliant with U.S. GAAP and internal controls. Contribute to ongoing improvements in financial operations and reporting accuracy. Utilize accounting software systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite) to manage daily transactions and reporting. Partner with cross-functional teams to support financial transparency and operational efficiency. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES In-depth understanding of general accounting principles and financial statement preparation. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail. Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial modeling. Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment. Effective communicator and collaborator with both finance and non-finance teams. Familiarity with healthcare fee-for-service and multi-site operations is a plus. Proactive and solution-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset. Organized and self-motivated with a commitment to producing high-quality work. Mission-driven and aligned with our focus on improving pediatric care for underserved communities. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CPA-track preferred). Minimum of 3+ years of accounting experience, with a strong preference for healthcare industry experience. Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, or NetSuite.
