We are seeking a
Plant Controller
to serve as the primary finance leader at our Novi, MI facility. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this individual will play a critical role in supporting plant operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and guiding decision-making through strong analysis and reporting. The Plant Controller will act as a strategic partner to operational leadership, driving cost discipline, process improvements, and financial transparency across the site. Key Responsibilities
Oversee all plant-level finance and accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow management, and general ledger accuracy.
Lead the monthly close process, preparing accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Manage and enhance cost accounting practices, including analysis of manufacturing costs, margins, and variances.
Provide actionable financial insights and reporting to plant and corporate leadership teams.
Develop and track operational metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve accountability and performance.
Monitor and maintain inventory valuation, including physical counts and reconciliation processes.
Partner with corporate finance during external audits and ensure compliance with internal control standards.
Identify opportunities for process efficiency and improvements in financial systems and reporting.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive finance or controllership experience within a manufacturing environment.
Strong technical background in cost accounting, inventory management, and ERP systems.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP platforms (Acumatica preferred).
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Proven ability to work cross-functionally, influence decision-making, and drive operational improvements.
Highly organized, adaptable, and detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
