Pursue your passion for caring with the Patient Revenue Management Organization, which is Duke Health\'s fully integrated, centralized revenue cycle organization that supports the entire health system in streamlining the revenue cycle. This includes scheduling, registration, coding, billing, and other essential revenue functions.

Coordinate and participate in a variety of duties associated with daily activities in the revenue cycle, including answering telephone calls, taking and delivering messages to physicians, nurses and scheduling. The position also involves customer service, message handling according to practice communication standards, and preparation of clinic visits. Prepare for clinic visits by reviewing next-day patients and completing patient identification, patient check-in/out, charge posting, and cash handling. Report obtained medical information from patients and referring physicians accurately.

Responsibilities of this level include entering pre-visit orders and preparing new patient charts, picking up X-rays, encounter forms, reports, petty cash, and collections bag; filing history sheets and ancillary patient record documentation; returning medical records; attaching reports and required HIPAA/Medicare documents; coordinating distribution, ancillary scheduling and next-day preparation activities; managing patient charts and forms; auditing encounter forms for completeness before batching; scheduling tests and procedures; handling ancillary service requests and referrals; check-in of patients upon arrival; verifying patient information in IDX and updating demographic data; educating patients on required forms and obtaining signatures as required by policy and procedure; processing check-in files and alerts; collecting and posting co-pays and balances due; printing patient chart documents; coordinating labs/procedures; maintaining physician office charts and forms; and ensuring proper encounter form preparation and cash handling.

Coordinate all labs and procedures as requested. Manage all related forms and ensure proper documentation.

Explain billing to patients according to PRMO credit and collection plan. Check-out patients and schedule return appointments by assigning patients to the correct appointment type.

Education

Experience
