About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Accounting and Controller to take on a pivotal role in the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Accounting Department, ensuring strict compliance with GAAP, NCUA regulations, and CECL modeling requirements. This strategic position involves managing the Core Accounting System, overseeing process automation workflows, and serving as the primary point of contact for auditors and regulators. The VP will also be tasked with analyzing financial performance, providing data-driven insights, and making strategic recommendations to support the company's long-term objectives. A self-motivated, people-oriented leader with strong communication skills is essential for this role. The ideal candidate will have the ability to simplify complex financial concepts for non-financial stakeholders, be highly adaptable, and possess a growth mindset. A minimum of 7 years' of experience in accounting, forecasting, and financial analysis within financial institutions is required, with a preference for candidates holding a CPA or a master's degree. A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is a mandatory educational requirement. Experience in a credit union or banking environment is also a crucial factor for success in this position.
