Avison Young’s Tri-State Debt & Equity Finance Team is seeking a “mortgage broker” with a 4+ year track record of originating debt and/or equity transactions for NYC-based owner/operator/developers.
Joining this team provides the opportunity to collaborate with and learn from a team of “mortgage brokers” that collectively have over 200 years of experience in NYC real estate finance transactions, and who have won 6 REBNY Most Ingenious Finance Deal of the Year Awards. We also intentionally sit next to and are closely integrated with James Nelson’s Tri-State Investment Sales team, providing access to a robust and constantly evolving group of the most active buyers and sellers of NYC real estate.
We represent an impressive group of major NYC-based owner/operators for whom we have closed tens of billions of dollars of real estate financings, covering all portions of the capital stack, all property types, and deal sizes ranging from $5MM to $800MM+. That said, we are a small team which means that a huge portion of the potential NYC real estate ownership market is available for the applicant to capture as their own new clients.
This position is 100% commission based.
Responsibilities
Originating, structuring, marketing, negotiating, and closing commercial real estate debt and equity transactions covering all property types including multifamily, office, industrial, warehouse, retail, condo, hotel and other specialty uses. Working to drive new business across the Avison Young New York platform, in order to monetize existing and new relationships by introducing them to our professionals across multiple service lines Working closely with clients and capital providers in order to facilitate closings as well as develop and grow longterm relationships Marketing transactions to a wide range of debt & equity capital sources including insurance companies, debt funds, pensions funds, banks, private equity, agencies, sovereign wealth funds, high net worth individuals, single and multi family offices, and other investment vehicles.
