Overview
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Accounting Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of inventory accounting for our $1B distribution business. This Senior Inventory Accounting Manager will ensure accurate valuation, reporting, and control of inventory while partnering with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to drive efficiency and safeguard company assets.
Compensation Base pay range: $150,000.00/yr - $175,000.00/yr
Position Senior Inventory Accounting Manager
— $150,000 to $175,000 per year plus bonus
Responsibilities
Manage the month-end close process for inventory, including reconciliations, reserves, and variance analysis.
Oversee inventory accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP.
Partner with supply chain and operations on cycle counts, physical inventories, and shrink analysis.
Lead the review of costing, margins, and inventory valuation adjustments.
Provide reporting, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership to improve working capital and profitability.
Mentor and develop a team of inventory accountants/analysts.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance
10+ years of accounting experience with a focus on inventory, preferably in distribution, wholesale, or manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, inventory controls, and cost accounting principles.
Proven leadership skills with ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
Advanced Excel and ERP system experience ideally with AS400 and/or Oracle
