Our Consumer Products client is looking for an Inventory Accounting Manager to join their team. This Company is fast-growing with multiple thriving brands. This position will manage general accounting and inventory accounting. Their ideal candidate must have inventory accounting experience and come from a Consumer Goods or similar industry. Responsibilities
Actively participate in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, which includes review or preparation of journal entries, review of balance sheet reconciliations and analysis of balance sheet and income statement. Analyzing and collecting data to determine costs of inventory, such as direct costs and overhead. Perform inventory accounting activities including inventory variance reviews and analysis and reporting of inventory. Automating reporting and analysis using advanced Excel and Access tools, such as pivot tables and queries. Oversee inventory valuation using FIFO, LIFO, or weighted cost methods. Preparing spending and variance analysis. Responsible for internal controls, financial control documentation and testing, and supporting audits. Ensuring that items are correctly classified, and statements are prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Drive process improvements in reporting of inventory and in-licensing collaborations. Assisting in the analytical and/or strategic function, including the development of budgeting, planning, and forecasting. Ability to manage and allocate resources, set priorities, and coordinate with various departments and third-party vendors. Providing management with key performance indicators for decision-making purposes. Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar degree Experience in the Consumer Products industry is required. Inventory Accounting experience is required. CPA License is preferred. Employment type
