The Intake Manager oversees the county operations of the Intake Services team on the Eastern Shore. The Eastern Region Intake Manager provides management oversight to the supervisory and intake staff who deliver services to juveniles referred by various sources, including law enforcement, citizens, local education, and community agencies. The Intake Manager's main responsibilities include ensuring that regional intake operations comply with State and Federal laws, regulations, collective bargaining agreements, and Departmental policies and procedures. This requires working closely with external stakeholders and overseeing all Eastern Region intake complaints, from approved referral sources, and case outcomes. The Intake Manager also ensures that appropriate assessments and reviews are conducted to prioritize the best interest of the child, family, and public safety, and monitors and assesses program service providers, identifying additional resources, including diversion services. Minimum Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: Four years of experience providing case management services to emotionally or socially maladjusted, delinquent, victimized, or exceptional juveniles in a community or residential setting. Notes

Candidates may substitute possession of an Associate of Arts degree in the social or behavioral sciences or criminal justice from an accredited college or university and two years of experience providing direct services to children in a community or residential setting for the required education. Candidates may substitute possession of a Master’s degree in the social or behavioral sciences or criminal justice from an accredited college or university for one year of the required experience. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Social Services classifications or Social Services specialty codes in the Social Science, Psychology and Welfare field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education. Desired Or Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants who possess experience planning and supervising the performance of employees' work, especially in a community or residential services environment. Licenses, Registrations And Certifications

Candidates appointed to positions in this classification are required to become fully certified by the Maryland Correctional Training Commission within 90 days of appointment and maintain certification while employed. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland. Special Requirements
