Regional Underwriting Manager - Florida at PURE Insurance. This role is part of the Southern Zone underwriting team and reports to the Zonal Underwriting Manager, with partnership across the Regional Executive. Hybrid work arrangement with the expectation to commute to Warren, NJ or Charleston, SC office 2-3 times per week. About The Role
The Regional Underwriting Manager for the Florida team is a key member of the Southern Zone underwriting team. The primary goal is to profitably grow a book of business by actively partnering with brokers, leading and developing an underwriting team, and working effectively with colleagues throughout the organization. Responsibilities include planning and budgeting for the book of business, developing and maintaining broker relationships, and ensuring the quality of underwriting decisions and execution. What You’ll Do
Business Management: Work with the Regional Executive and Underwriting Executive on planning and budgeting for the book of business, tracking and reporting performance to plan, and understanding market conditions and the competitive landscape within the Region. Underwriter Leadership: Lead and manage an Underwriting team, handle referrals for authority, and coach and develop team members. Underwriting Execution: Manage the Region’s new and renewal underwriting execution, including risk selection aligned with PURE’s strategy and guidelines, operating within authority and documentation guidelines, following up on accounts and closing new business. Conduct and report on quarterly self-audits. Broker Partnership: Develop, maintain and manage broker partnerships within the Region; set strategies and goals for brokers and track progress; position PURE within the agency, including: Deliver exceptional, timely, complete and accurate service to brokers Develop trusted, respected relationships with broker partners Collaborate with brokers to craft the best solutions for their clients Share knowledge and best practices with brokers Underwrite empathetically at all times Recruiting: Participate in sourcing, interviewing and hiring of new team members. What We’re Looking For
A Bachelor’s degree is required. Management experience is required. Demonstrated progression of increasing responsibility. Minimum of 10 years underwriting experience required; some marketing experience preferred. Strong problem-solving skills. Demonstrated integrity, leadership, enthusiasm, and ability to establish trust and credibility. Proven ability to form effective working relationships with independent insurance brokers. The base salary for this role ranges from $120,000 to $140,000, depending on full-time schedule. Compensation varies based on job-related skills and experience, geographic location, alignment with market data, and equity among team members with comparable experience. Additional Information
