Associate Director, Programmatic & Direct Media – lead role on the Performance.Monks Programmatic & Media team. Responsible for client-facing programmatic media buys across a portfolio of accounts, guiding partner selection, budget allocation, and team development. About The Role The Associate Director will help develop media plans spanning DSPs, media vendors, publishers, and other programmatic ad buying types. They will determine which partners and tactics to utilize and allocate budgets accordingly. They will also manage and support a team of 1 programmatic specialist with assigned accounts on programmatic strategy, account sponsorship, and skills growth. Success in this role requires experience in the Programmatic & Media space across client types, DSP experience, performance measurement, and ad-type understanding. Strong data and quantitative analysis skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and the ability to prioritize workflow are essential. The ideal candidate will have opinions on industry changes, programmatic practice, and the digital ad ecosystem, with excellent problem-solving and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a resourceful approach to tough problems. Responsibilities
Manage a team of 1 - 3 programmatic specialists in roles ranging from Account Manager to Senior Manager Lead and grow programmatic relationships with high-priority clients as both an individual contributor and account sponsor for direct reports Build strategic media plans spanning multiple ad types across programmatic, direct publisher, and other specialized ad buying including audio, CTV, ABM, and more Develop digital awareness & acquisition strategies for internal cross-sells and net-new prospective clients Serve as the client-facing programmatic and media lead on top revenue-driving account teams Guide the setup & launch of programmatic and direct media campaigns across DSPs, publishers, and vendors Coordinate with ad ops on ad trafficking in CM360 and guide floodlight/tracking setup for new advertisers Monitor in-flight campaign pacing, budgets, optimizations and results, both during and after buys Troubleshoot trafficking issues related to creative and publisher implementation; escalate to 3rd party vendors as needed Create reports and provide data-driven recommendations to optimize campaigns towards client KPIs Measure impact and effectiveness of campaigns using quantitative and qualitative metrics to share with account leads and client contacts Qualifications
5+ years of experience in programmatic display, native, video, CTV, and audio with a solid B2B marketing background Experience with at least two of the following: DV360, The Trade Desk, Amazon DSP, Xandr, StackAdapt Experience presenting programmatic and/or direct media performance and strategy in a client-facing scenario Very high attention to detail and ability to synthesize large data into actionable information Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills Not a Must, But a Plus
Hands-on experience in Google Tag Manager & DoubleClick Campaign Manager Experience with direct media placements and publisher management Understanding of Search and Social digital media tactics Understanding of analytic platforms such as Google Analytics About You
