Each member of our team is accountable for the outstanding delivery of services to the community. You will work to meet the needs of our community. To succeed as a Recreation Leader III, you should be upbeat, decisive, and responsible while giving participants a fun, clean, and organized experience. You should also be organized and possess strong leadership skills. You will have the support of and work under the direction of the Recreation Coordinator and/or Recreation Manager II. The hours will vary Monday- Sunday 9:00am- 9:00pm with primarily working Saturday and Sunday. Your hours will be determined bi-weekly based on the needs of the facility. Facility Operations Duties

Manage Facility Rentals. Responsible for creating bookings, following up with patrons, day of set up coordination, ensuring data records are accurate and up to date Facility Rental requests could include: Birthday parties, meetings, classes, baby showers, soft play room, racquetball reservations, group reservations, picnic reservations, and outdoor rental space Assist with Aquatics Rentals: Entry, management, staff coordination, and reservations Assist with registration, data management, and recordkeeping Assist with the administration and clerical needs of the programs offered Day of Party/ Rental Coordinator; Organize and manage day of rentals and party set up and take down Work closely with Recreation Coordinator

to ensure timely rental transitions Act as MOD and carry out MOD responsibilities when needed, including supervision of the facility and employees on shift Works under the supervision of the Recreation Coordinator Use good judgement in all grievances and notifies management of problems. Handles customer questions, concerns, and complaints in person, email, and/or over telephone Utilize Rec Trac database for transaction processing and reservation management Keep log of party and rental requests Run and update rental/reservation participant head count Physically assist customers with locating rentals and parties Develop new and innovative rental amenities and themes Attends all staff trainings and staff meeting, and may have recreation services committee assignments Effectively communicate with supervisor, staff, and customers Assist in packing all materials and equipment at end of day and end of season Function effectively as a team member Must be able to move, lift, and assemble tables and chairs and set up multiple parties at a time Performs related work as required About the Department of Recreation, Parks & Cultural Activities

The mission of Recreation, Parks & Cultural Activities is to enrich the City of Alexandria by creating meaningful experiences through public spaces, cultural activities, and programming. The Department’s vision is to improve the well-being of every person in our community by connecting them to each other and their environment. The Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities received national accreditation from the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA). National accreditation requires park and recreation agencies to meet 155 standards representing elements of effective and efficient park and recreation operations. High School Diploma and three (3) years of related experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. First Aid training. Proficiency with Rec-Trac or similar digital reservation system. This position requires successful completion of a criminal records background check and drug screening prior to employment. *Weekends are required for this position
