Overview
Brooksource is searching for Defense Logistics Subject Matter Expert (SME)s for a large federal government program. The SME role provides specialized logistics and policy expertise to a federal agency office that oversees military logistics operations. SMEs contribute to policy development, process improvement, and governance across defense agency supply, distribution, transportation, and sustainment programs. Candidates may be considered for SME II (2+ years) or SME III (5+ years) depending on qualifications. Responsibilities
Draft, review, and route executive-level correspondence, policies, and reports. Conduct logistics policy research and draft recommendations for leadership. Support policy development in supply, distribution, transportation, and sustainment. Provide governance oversight, compliance monitoring, and audit response. Conduct process mapping and business process improvement initiatives. Support congressional reporting, legislative review, and sustainment strategy development. Required Knowledge and Skills
Candidates with an active security clearance will be given priority SME II: 2+ years’ experience in logistics or executive operational support. SME III: 5+ years’ experience in logistics policy, governance, or sustainment. Strong policy writing, analytical, and communication skills. Familiarity with defense agency compliance, CATMS, and governance processes. Education
Bachelor’s degree required (MS preferred) Preferred Skills
Expertise in at least one specialty area: Supply, Transportation, CSO, or SCRM. Experience drafting defense agency issuances or policy updates. Familiarity with congressional reporting or legislative review processes.
