Director Of Custodial Services Overnight / AM Position Summary: The Director of Custodial Services plans, organizes and directs the activities of the managers and supervisors of all campus buildings with a focus on Overnight and AM Operations. The Director administers policies, procedures, labor agreements and training related to the activities of custodial personnel. Maintains an environment that is sanitary, attractive and in orderly condition. Responsibilities
Lead and direct custodial operations with emphasis on Overnight and AM shifts. Develop and implement policies, procedures and training related to custodial personnel. Manage relationships with facilities teams to ensure high standards of cleanliness and safety. Plan, organize and coordinate large-scale facilities activities within a business or educational environment. Qualifications And Competencies
B.A./B.S. degree in business, management or a related discipline. Extensive (8-12 years) professional work experience in facilities management and advancing responsibilities in a large service-related organization. Valid driver's license (active for at least 2 years prior to appointment). Accomplished written and oral communication skills. Strong management, leadership, planning, coordinating, budgeting and implementation skills for large-scale facilities activities. Knowledge of custodial/janitorial practices, electronic QA programs, and general industry safety standards. Analytical capabilities and excellent customer-oriented service skills. Excellent Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook skills; strong interpersonal, organizational and detail-oriented abilities. Ability to manage personnel matters with tact, foster collaboration, and handle conflict constructively. Skill in redesigning operations, policy development, and implementing new strategies and procedures. Ability to develop and execute short- and long-range goals; prioritize resources effectively. Experience with time & attendance, work order scheduling, and data synthesis to inform decisions. Ability to create and deliver a training curriculum; ability to read, interpret, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Flexibility to work various shifts as training and inspection needs require. Strong time management and relationship-building skills. Other Information
Physical demands: Regularly required to talk and hear; may need to stand, walk, and use hands for extended periods; vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral and depth perception. PPE such as steel-toed or non-slip shoes, eye protection, and gloves may be required. On-site work; ability to walk, stand and climb stairs for long durations; work in adverse temperatures or weather conditions. This position is classified as on site.
