Senior Government Audit Manager - Public Sector Assurance & Advisory Services
A leading public accounting firm is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to lead our Government & Public Sector practice. This senior-level position offers an exceptional opportunity to drive complex governmental audit engagements while developing your leadership skills and advancing your career in public accounting.
Position Overview As Senior Government Audit Manager, you'll lead multiple engagement teams, provide strategic direction on complex governmental audits, and serve as a trusted advisor to our public sector clients across California and Oregon.
Responsibilities
Direct multiple concurrent governmental audit engagements from planning through completion
Lead and mentor audit teams while fostering a culture of excellence and professional growth
Ensure compliance with GASB, GAGAS, Single Audit/Uniform Guidance requirements
Develop and maintain strong client relationships with government officials and stakeholders
Manage engagement economics, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
Drive quality control processes and technical reviews of deliverables
Contribute to practice growth through business development initiatives
Qualifications
Active CPA license
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
5+ years of public accounting experience with focus on governmental audits
Comprehensive knowledge of GASB, GAGAS, and Single Audit requirements
Proven team leadership and staff development experience
Excellence in project management and client communication
Experience with governmental ERP systems and audit software
