Job Summary:
A Director of Finance and Billing leads the billing department by developing policies, overseeing the billing and claims processes, managing the billing team, and ensuring the accuracy and timely submission of claims and payments. Responsibilities
Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage billing teams, provide guidance and support to ensure performance, establish work priorities, and foster a culture of accountability. Become familiar with the portfolio service offerings. Create consistent lines of communication. Attend in-house meetings and represent the company at outside meetings as needed. Process Management: Develop, maintain, and update billing policies, practices, and procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Assist with applying for and carrying out grants in partnership with service leaders. Develop the expertise to assist other organizations with billing and service accounting systems. Partner with services and business office staff to ensure smooth processes. Work with Vice Presidents and Service Directors through the process of building the organization’s budget. Partner with Service Vice Presidents, CFO and CEO to lead audits. Claims & Payments: Oversee the accurate and timely submission of claims to insurance providers, track payments, and manage accounts receivable and collections. Bill for services provided using systems like Medicaid, Medicare, and other state and federal funding systems. Maintain billings for multiple organizations. Assist with all other billing. Problem Resolution: Conduct root-cause analysis for complex billing issues, manage denial appeals, and work to improve the revenue cycle. Internal Controls & Compliance: Implement and maintain appropriate internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure adherence to billing regulations. Manage internal controls to maintain compliance with relevant regulations. Ensure records are maintained according to policies and regulations. Ensure contracts and agreements are stored according to procedures and state and federal requirements. Reporting & Analysis: Analyze trends in billing and reimbursement, generate reports, and provide insights to improve financial outcomes. Analyze billing and provide reports and trends. Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with internal departments and external parties, such as insurance providers, to address billing-related inquiries and issues. Work with State agencies, managed care organizations, and other funders as needed to ensure accuracy. Partner with other organizations that we provide services to. Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business management. Substantial experience in managing a billing department. Details
