Assistant Controller
– Stamford, CT An established wholesale company in the food and beverage sector is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join its accounting and finance team. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, this role will oversee month-end close, financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and inventory accounting. The position is onsite full-time in Stamford, CT and offers a competitive base salary of up to $150,000 along with a comprehensive benefits package. Key Responsibilities
Oversee general ledger maintenance and lead the month-end/year-end close processes Prepare and analyze consolidated financial reports Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and inventory accounting functions Support the development and enforcement of internal control procedures Ensure compliance with tax regulations, audit requirements, and financial reporting standards Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or MBA is required 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2–3 years in a leadership role Previous experience in the wholesale or food and beverage industry is strongly preferred Deep understanding of inventory accounting practices Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal How to Apply
