Brief Summary of Job Duties:
The Program Advisor manages and supervises the production-related logistics and requirements for programs and events for the department of Associated Students, working with AS Event Safety and Production Coordinators and the event staff. Supervises approximately 25 Event Safety Staff and 25 Production crew members. The advisor will assist Program Board members on logistical planning, implementation, budgeting, event evaluation and ensure compliance with pertinent A.S. and University policies and procedures. Serves as liaison with University service providers on all events. Works with campus community in the presentation of cultural and public events.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
1-3 years Requires experience and proficiency in planning and delivering live performances
1-3 years Demonstrated experience in performing arts production, planning, budgeting and management along with sound judgment in evaluating bids from sound, light and staging companies to provide state of the art performances
Must have ability to train staff and work with a variety of artist and production managers to assist with events
Ability to work in diverse groups, including but not limited to students, staff, faculty, general public, production personnel, technical operators and performing artists
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge and skill to set and monitor work standards and protocols
Highly developed judgment, decision-making and problem recognition / avoidance / resolution skills, including skill in determining those issues / problems that need to be brought to management's attention
Knowledge of University policies and procedures relating to the use of University facilities; event management and presentation
Thorough knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles and practices of event planning and public relations, including event design, organization and production
Special Conditions of Employment:
Must be available evenings and weekends and work a varied schedule

Satisfactory criminal history background check

60% Advising
- Advises the Program Board on event safety, production and technical issues; oversees student staff; attends meetings; guides program board coordinators; ensures compliance with regulations; supports budget, records, and reporting; coordinates with various campus departments; develops evaluation processes; manages requisitions and serves as liaison with University Departments.
40% Supervision and Training
- Hires, trains and supervises Event Student Staff and Production Crew; schedules and evaluates work; provides training; develops professional development programs; maintains equipment inventory and assists with asset management.
