Senior Manager – Operations Center
which is responsible for resolution of in-service issues and 24/7 support to our Commercial Airplane Customers, based in
Seal Beach, California . This position offers a unique opportunity to lead fast-paced teams working on complex technical challenges in support of safe operation and return to service. As a senior manager you will interact with Service Engineering teams, Field Service, Fleet Chief Offices, U.S. and International commercial customers / suppliers, and regulatory agencies. This position requires an individual with excellent communication and relationship-building skills, who can work on variable shifts.
Responsibilities
Manages employees and first-level managers performing engineering and technical activities that provide 24/7 support for the Boeing Commercial Fleet.
Lead the team through complex technical challenges, responsible for products and processes, quality, schedules and performance, and developing and motivating employees.
Regularly interact with other Customer Support organizations including Field Service, Maintenance Engineering, Fleet Chief Office, Service Engineering, as well as Design Engineering, U.S. and International Commercial Customers / Suppliers, and Regulatory Agencies.
Develops and implements integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives.
Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of issue resolution, and leads process improvements.
Cultivates relationships and partnerships with customers, peers, partners and team members.
Development of Leaders (K-level Managers and Associate Technical Fellows).
Demonstrates and models Boeing Values and Behaviors.
Occasional travel up to 15% to interface with domestic and global team members.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited program in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
2+ years of experience as a manager leading engineering teams.
Ability to support operations and team in a 24/7 environment.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry.
Experience working with customers on technical and business issues.
