Overview Position:

Vice President of Development

Location: Los Angeles, CA (California Southland chapter). This full-time role focuses on fundraising leadership, developing revenue growth strategies, and engaging staff, volunteers, and key community and corporate partners to achieve organizational goals.

Position Summary As

Vice President of Development , you will apply your proven sales and relationship management skills to drive success and revenue growth through positive engagement with staff and community volunteer leaders. You will identify and cultivate relationships with key community leaders and C-Suite corporate partners, coach and inspire your team to build successful event growth strategies through community and volunteer engagement. You will work with Chapter and cross-functional leadership to develop ambitious development strategies and goals aligned with the Association’s strategic plan and deliver measurable results. In partnership with the Chapter Executive/Regional Vice President, you will recruit, develop and mobilize a highly engaged board. You will lead, coach and mentor a team of professional development staff to meet fundraising goals across multiple programs, including mass-market events, corporate sponsorships, and major gifts.

This role is based in Los Angeles, CA and covers the California Southland chapter market.

Responsibilities

Build sustainable corporate and community partnerships to achieve revenue goals

Develop a comprehensive development strategy that drives aggressive revenue growth

Engage staff and volunteers through coaching, recognition, and mutual accountability

Recruit, manage, and coach fundraising staff and volunteers to implement best practices and achieve goals, with a focus on Walk to End Alzheimer’s

Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team environment

Provide inspirational leadership and oversight of fundraising programs to meet or exceed revenue goals across mass-market events, sponsorships, and other gifts; develop pipelines for major and planned gifts

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred in sales/business or related field; CFRE is a plus but not required

7+ years of leadership experience in peer-to-peer and diversified fundraising; experience with mass-market events (e.g., Walk) required

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Data analysis to increase productivity and results

Strong networking and relationship-building with C-Suite community and corporate leaders

Experience engaging community and corporate leaders in volunteer leadership roles

Strategic planning, budget development and management

Experience supervising, coaching, and motivating fundraising staff and volunteers

Cross-functional collaboration to build capacity

Excellent written and verbal communication; attention to detail and project management

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and teleconferencing tools (e.g., Zoom)

Experience with fundraising databases (preferably Luminate)

Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, early mornings, and occasional weekends

Ability to travel extensively within the chapter territory and occasional overnight travel

Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and access to reliable personal vehicle

Grade & Compensation: Grade 311

Salary Range: The Alzheimer’s Association’s good faith expectation for the salary range is between

$140,000



$180,000 .

Bonus/Incentives: There is a performance-based incentive opportunity up to

$13,000 , depending on portfolio size and achievement of quarterly goals.

Other: Eligible for a

$15,000

signing bonus.
