Abcam . This is a full-time on-site position reporting to the VP of Global Manufacturing and part of the Global Operations Team. Lead the site operations teams with responsibility for safety, planning, manufacturing, quality control, and, at some sites, packaging for stock by global logistics teams. Develop and implement the strategic plan for the site within the context of the Global Ops strategy, including new processes, products, and equipment to support long-term business goals. Build a high-performing culture and diverse Site Leadership team by defining development plans and providing timely feedback. Champion the Danaher Business System (DBS) at the site and apply it to map improvement plans, drive sustainable improvements, lead Ops Daily Management meetings, and own the site KPI Bowler and Visual Factory. Govern improvement activities at the site by managing the Kaizen Funnel, leading Kaizens, and driving Problem Solving Processes (PSPs). Set SMART performance goals for the Operations team, covering safety, quality, inventory, productivity, and costs. Manage the Financial performance of Operations at the site, including Opex/Capex spending and cashflow improvements through inventory optimization. Reporting and Leadership structure

Direct reports: Production Manager(s); Quality Control Manager; Production & Material Planning Manager; Materials Handling Manager. Other site-based positions (DBS, EHS, QARA, Lab Support, Material Sciences, and Logistics) have a strong dotted line to the Site Operations Leadership Team, which is supported by Global Operations. Essential requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field. At least 10 years of industry experience or equivalent in a similar industry. Financial acumen with profit/loss responsibility. Demonstrated leadership in continuous improvement; experience leading DBS Kaizens preferred. Ability to work in international/multi-cultural environments. Fluent in English (spoken and written). Ability to effectively lead staff and communicate department needs to management. Travel and physical/environmental requirements

Ability to travel occasionally to other sites to participate in Kaizens and understand the wider Abcam business. Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Preferred experience

Over 5 years of experience with operational improvement techniques such as Lean or Six Sigma. Equal opportunity and contact
