The incumbent will manage Standby LC and Commercial LC activities supporting other Units of Trade Service Operations, ensuring daily processing meets department goals and SLAs. Core functions include workflow management, quality control and customer service, training, staff and performance management, and providing operational and technical support for US offices/branches. The role requires strong knowledge of Standby Letters of Credit and related products, risk mitigation through careful drafting, and adherence to internal and external requirements. Reconciliation of GL accounts, posting of liabilities and fee accruals, and timely escalation of aged/unreconciled items to management are expected. Responsibilities

Operational Governance:

Oversee Trade Services Operations, collaborate with Risk, Audit, and Compliance, identify gaps, and recommend improvements. Workflow Management:

Monitor daily operations to ensure timely processing of transactions, including RAs, Sight and usance payments, investigations, and resolving discrepancies; verify and release L/Cs, amendments, payments, and negotiable instruments within prescribed timeframes and authorization limits; prepare production/operation reports for management. Consultation on Trade Finance:

Provide Draft Review of bilateral Standby LCs and offer technical guidance to account officers, middle office, product teams, and customers across US branches/offices; participate in customer calls with product teams and account officers. Product Knowledge:

Maintain draft review expertise, monitor product developments, participate in Front Office/Legal discussions on closing complex Standby LCs, and engage with customers on structured LCs (e.g., Syndicated LCs). Customer Service:

Document, research, track, and resolve inquiries; oversee aged transactions and ensure timely resolution in coordination with Front Offices; maintain current procedures aligned with Head Office guidelines; participate in improvement initiatives. Staff Performance:

Develop and modify strategies to address performance gaps, design training programs to enhance skills, and ensure performance appraisals reflect objectives with actionable improvement plans; identify and address policy conflicts when needed. Qualifications

Strong communication and analytical skills Knowledge of accounting and reconciliation of liabilities and fees Experience across Trade Products College degree or 10 years banking experience with hands-on knowledge of Trade Finance Products and international banking The typical base pay range for this role is $122,000–$143,000, depending on knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
