Responsibilities

The Store Manager will manage and lead in a multiunit capacity.

Provide and model best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks.

Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.

Promptly and accurately process guest purchases/return transactions using POS software; handle transactions with accuracy and provide top-notch guest service.

Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; answer phone calls promptly, courteously, and professionally.

Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, including the new title reservations program, trade-in program, and Pro Rewards loyalty program.

Recruit, interview, hire, assess, develop, and retain high-performing associates.

Ensure associates have completed onboarding, job training, and compliance training prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics.

Communicate regularly with store associates and District Manager to implement GameStop initiatives; set guest service expectations and train associates in job responsibilities, policies, procedures, and guidelines. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates, Retail Keyholders, and Assistant Store Managers.

Schedule store associates in compliance with guidelines; manage breaks and meals; maintain optimal staffing to provide excellent guest service.

Approve payroll, manage time off, and ensure accurate pay for time worked.

Provide timely recognition and feedback to associates; maintain performance records in HR systems.

Ensure store areas are neat, clean, organized, and merchandised per guidelines; maintain working order of fixtures and equipment.

Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily.

Conduct store inventory counts, stock/restock merchandise, and organize product on the floor.

Protect assets through inventory control and loss prevention; conduct security checks as required.

Lead team to meet or exceed sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties.

Count, balance, and reconcile daily transactions in the POS system; manage closeout paperwork and bank deposits.

Verify shipments for discrepancies and conduct inventories; communicate discrepancies to District Manager.

Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately with proper labeling and packing.

Maintain associate and guest safety; report injuries per guidelines.

Maintain store records and up-to-date manuals.

Form professional partnerships with appropriate military personnel on assigned bases where applicable.

Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures as outlined in the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.

Qualifications

Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.

At least 1 year of retail management experience required.

At least 3 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management/leadership experience preferred.

Video game knowledge preferred.

Work 40 hours per week with flexibility for extended hours, nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime.

Manage pressure, stay creative, and solve problems; reliable and trustworthy.

Able to work in isolation when needed; stand/move up to 12 hours; lift up to 30 lbs and reach heights as required.

Ability to understand military ranks and insignia for stores on military bases where applicable.

Full-time store positions eligible for incentive programs, 401(k), paid time off, dental, vision, health insurance, and eligible for bonuses or other incentives.

Compensation:

$18.41 - $26.41 per hour.
